Squirrels is our lower junior class for Year 3 and 4 children.

Year 3 and 4 is a definite step on from the infant classes and sometimes children can feel this initially as the emphasis moves away from activity based learning.  Lessons are more formal and usually children stay at their desks rather than coming on to the carpet area.  There is an emphasis on developing independence and being more self-reliant to get on with tasks by themselves. The curriculum is an exciting one; subjects studied include:

Geography = Europe and Landscapes 

History = Romans and Stone Age 

Science = Solids/liquids/gasses and Rocks/Fossils 

PSHE = Family and Friends 

PE = Gymnastics 

DT = App control 

Art = Pissaro Cityscape and Royalists 

RE = Judaism and Incarnation 

French = Food and All about me
